Day 13 - Sharing a Moment

Tonight I was sitting on the floor reading the cutest Winnie the Pooh Book to my Daughter and then she peed on my leg.  It kinda broke the mood.  -IMJS

Day 4 - Sharing

My daughter is such a good sharer!

This morning while I was laying in bed with my daughter she picked her nose and then put her booger in my nose. Oh what a beautiful morning!

Day 3 - Finger Painting with Poop

This happened about a month ago...

One morning when I went to get Alora out of her crib, I found out that she had taken off all of her clothes and her poopy diaper! She had somehow managed to get her poop out of her diaper and onto the floor and had also decided to finger paint with her poop: herself, the bed, the railings (both the inside and outside), her bottle, and her doll. BUT WAIT, THAT'S NOT ALL....
Once I discovered her like that I quickly (but carefully!) grabbed her out of her bed and put her in the bathtub to wash all the poop off of her.  Once I was done washing her off in the tub, I left her there (BAD IDEA!!!) and went and cleaned up her filthy bed, her doll, the floor, etc, which took some time! Once I finished cleaning that amazing mess, I went and got clean clothes for my daughter and went to get her out of the tub. While I was gone, she apparently, had stood up and reached over the tub to her baby potty (where she had gone pee before getting in the tub) grabbed it and then proceeded to dump the pee right over her head and into the bath water! Mommy came back and soon realized, when she saw the potty bowl in the bath with daughter, that her daughter had decided that she wanted to dump the water over her head the way mommy does when she is washing her hair. Only it wasn't water....it was her PEE!!!  Awesome!!!  It was then time for Mommy to drain the tub and give her princess a second bath! What a fun morning to be a Mom!!!

Perhaps I should mention that when I walked in and realized she had dumped pee all over her head I actually yelled out load, "Are you kidding me, Alora?!  Seriously?!"  I then sank down on the floor with my head on the ground both laughing and crying.  And began repeatedly yelling out, "Why? Why? Why?"  It was quite a pitiful sight!

Day 2 - Morning Diaper Surprise?

So, since I didn’t start this blog until January 2nd, I am sharing two entries today so that I can be up-to-date.

Alora Day 2

Yesterday morning when Alora woke up, over the baby monitor we heard her say, “Daddy Poopy! Yuck!!!”  After my husband and I played rock, paper, scissors to see who would get up and go get her (which by the way is a great way to handle nearly all marital disputes!),  my husband went down to get her dreading, god only knows, how much poop she would be covered in!  When he walked in to her room his horror was realized as he saw that she had taken off all of her clothes and her diaper!  But, to his great surprise (and mine) he found Alora in her crib with all her clothes off and her diaper neatly folded up.  She presented him her folded up diaper and repeated “Daddy poopy!”  But, the diaper did not have poop in it.  By this point my husband was very confused!  But, as he picked Alora up she said,  “Poopy Daddy! Potty!”  So, my husband took her to the potty where she did just as she said.  It was really quite polite of her to take off and fold her own diaper and also quite polite to wait and go poop in the potty so that we didn’t have to change a poopy diaper.  It was also nice of her not to go poop in her diaper and take it off and then use it to finger paint her bed and herself like she did a few weeks ago!  (But, that is a story for another day!!!) By the way, she did the exact same thing this morning as well.  We found her naked with her folded up diaper ready to go!

Day 1 - Hello World!!!

So, I watched the movie Julie and Julia the other day with my husband.  I have now found myself inspired to blog about something for 365 days just like the girl did in the movie.  (Good movie by the way if you haven’t seen it!)
The challenge – to select something that I can be passionate enough about that I could write about it every day for a whole year (cause it sure ain’t cooking!).  So, I have decided to select my two year old daughter for several reasons.  First of all, I have selected her because I believe she is an endless topic that I could definitely write about every day.  Second, she is one funny little ham!  I’m sure there has to be at least one or two people out there who will find some of the stories I post on her interesting.

Here goes…..

Alora – Day 1
Today when I put my daughter in timeout for not listening to mommy, she yelled out “No Mommy! No! Annie dead!  ANNIE DEAD!”  Now, you must know two things – one, my daughter is obsessed with the movie Annie and watches it on average about 5-7 times a day.  Also, this was not just some random fluke, today was one of those days where my daughter was in time out about five times, so we got to hear “ANNIE’S DEAD!” three more times tonight!  What exactly does she mean?  No one but her knows for sure.

But, if you want her mothers take on it...When I put her in timeout she is REALLY upset with me.  For those of you who may not know my daughter, she is hands down the most dramatic two year old in the entire world!  (I’m not sure where she gets it from!)   So, I think the most dramatic thing in her little world would be if Annie died, so since I put her in timeout and she wants me to know how she feels about it she has decided to let me know that by putting her in timeout I have now killed Annie!  – Bad Mommy!!!
Any other thoughts from some parents or Annie fans out there?
